Faith Adventures is Farmington Lutheran's way to do Sunday and Wednesday School based on the
- belief that each child is a unique and precious individual of infinite value, created by God to live in relationship with Jesus and service to others;
- desire to give each child the opportunity to experience through meaningful multi-dimensional activities that God loves each of us and is actively involved in our lives;
- commitment of the congregation to pass the faith on to the next generation and nurture the growing faith of their children.
In these programs, the children explore one Bible story through a variety of workshops offered on consecutive weeks – the Workshop Rotation Model of Sunday School. The workshops may include art, drama, storytelling, movement, science, Bible skills, video, and food preparation. The instructional strategy in these workshops is created with the understanding that there are many learning styles and multiple intelligences, meaning that students are smart in different ways. Teaching the faith in workshops offers more diverse learning experiences, reflecting the different ways of being smart. As a result, the learning impact is greater, retention is higher, and learning is more interesting!
Faith Adventure classes are offered on Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 and Sundays 9:15-10:15.
