With all of the activities at Farmington Lutheran, we have many areas where your gifts and talents are needed. If you have gifts you would like to share, but do not see a description here, please talk to Maria Tarpinian, Director of Children's Ministries.
Wednesday Meal Coordinator: Plan and order meals for 50-70 people on Wednesday school evenings. A team can do this.
Wednesday Meal Cook/Volunteer: Help set up, cook, assist as cashier, serve food, and clean up. Time commitment is 2.5 hours per week (4:00-6:30pm); people are generally scheduled to serve once per month.
Christmas Program Assistant: Assist directors with various aspects of the Christmas program including rehearsal assistant, props, youth supervision, etc. Time commitment will include monthly meetings in September and October, then as needed for rehearsals, performance and other activities in November and December.
Art Project and Supply Preparation: Willing hands to assist with art project or supply preparation for classes. Time commitment is weekly, length of time depends on projects or supplies needed by individual classes.
Phone Calling: Callers needed to help with communications regarding programming or schedule people who have indicated an interest in a ministry area as needed.
Supply Shopping: People who are willing to pick up items for our various programs. Purchased items can be donated or bills can be submitted for reimbursement.
Bulk Mailing Assistant: Assist with preparing bulk mailings for sending.
Resource Center Attendant: Keep the resource center organized and help teachers find their supplies, help with miscellaneous office tasks. Time commitment is one hour/week during Sunday/Wednesday school times, but there is flexibility and the ability to share this position and skip weeks as needed.
SCRIP Table Attendant: Man a table and sell gift cards on Sunday mornings or Saturday evenings and help fundraise for Children’s Ministry! Duties include setting out the gift cards, and sitting at the SCRIP table to sell or take orders for SCRIP gift cards (a portion of which is returned to Farmington Lutheran Church Children’s Ministries and Worship & Music Programs). Time commitment would include being at the table before and after services on either a Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Volunteer once a month or once a quater - whatever fits your schedule!
Year-long Leadership:
Children’s Ministries Team : Be a part of the main visioning and action team for Farmington Lutheran. Team meets on the last Monday of each month in the evenings.
Musician: Lead 10-15 minutes of large group music time with our church school students. Commitment is weekly at any of our church school times.
Nursery Attendant: Attend to children (age 0-5) in the nursery during the Sunday education hour, worship, Wednesday school time, or special events (Bible Study, special worship services). Two attendants will be assigned for each Sunday.
Nursery Schedule Coordinator: Arrange a schedule for those who have indicated an interest in nursery attendants, provide communication between the church office and nursery attendants. Time commitment is 1-3 hours per month for coordinating the schedule.
Nursery Cleaning Team: Be a part of a team that takes care of our church nursery. Cleaning is scheduled one per month and time commitment is approximately 2-3 hours to clean and organize the nursery and its toys.
KiC Coordinator: Work closely with the Director of Children's Ministries to plan, arrange, and organize monthly service and/or social events for 5th and 6th grade youth.
Special Events:
Christmas Program Director: Responsible for selecting the Christmas program, directing the production and organizing other ministry personnel. Heaviest commitment during the months of November and December.
Epiphany Extravaganza Coordinator: With the assistance of the Director of Children's Ministries, plan and organize a family Epiphany Extravaganza that includes games, crafts, and other family projects. The Epiphany Extravaganza is held in the month of January.
VBS Team (2010): Vision, select curriculum, organize and implement ministry personnel to present VBS 2010, with heaviest duties during summer 2010. Meetings for this group will begin in January 2010.
Family Ministry Event Coordinator: Be a part of a team to plan, organize and implement family ministry events.
Bay Lake Bible Camp Volunteer: Spend 5 days in June at Bay Lake Bible Camp with 4th-6th grade students. Volunteer roles include teacher, craft coordinator, and nurse.
