Stepping Stones

New Beginnings!

As our three-year-olds begin Sunday school, they will be presented with a “Beginners Bible” to start their faith journeys off right! Children will receive their Bibles during our worship services. Dates for fall of 2010 are TBD. More information will be mailed to families with 3 year olds in September.

Off to Kindergarten!

A time for preparation and anticipation for those starting kindergarten in the fall. Parents and children will gather for a time of fun and learning while we focus on God being with us through everything. A blessing ceremony is held at one of our summer worship services. Dates for fall 2010 are TBD. More information will be mailed to families with children going into Kindergarten in the summer of 2010.

Third Grade Bible Class

This is a time for third graders to learn more about the Bible and how to use it to strengthen their faith. Third graders and their parents will be invited to learn about what makes this book so special to Christians and to make their own individualized covers. Bibles will be presented to the youth during our worship services. Dates for fall 2010 are TBD. More information will be mailed to families with 3rd graders at the beginning of the 2010 school year.

First Communion

First Communion instruction is offered to all current fifth graders at Farmington Lutheran Church. Instruction is through a combination of at-home study and a class with the pastor and Director of Children's Ministries. 2010 First Communion classes will be held on Saturday, March 20th from 10:00-11:30am and on Monday, March 22nd from 6:00-7:30pm. 5th graders and a parent or guardian are expected to attend one of the class dates offered.

Celebration of First Communion at Farmington Lutheran will take place on Maundy Thursday, April 1st (service times are 11:30am and 7:00pm). Due to spring break, FLC will also celebrate First Communion the weekend following Easter, which is April 10th-11th (service times are 5:00 on Saturday and 9:00 and 10:30 on Sunday). Families may choose one of the above dates and services for their child's celebration of First Communion.
